The Great Pint-Pulling Olympiad, A Mostly Irish Farce was published under the title Rückkehr nach Killoyle, Eine vorwiegend irische Farce in German translation in December 2002 (by Verlag Rogner und Bernhard, Hamburg). It will be published in English by Grove Press in 2003. A synopsis and the prologue and first chapter of the book are available at this site. A review (in German) is also available. The translation reads, in part: All the ingredients are there, the yarn-spinning is as joyous as ever, the allusions at least as rich as before… Maybe you can give the book to someone who, of an evening, will read aloud a couple of pages and raise a glass to this Laurence Sterne of our day |
